The infrastructure in this part of Evia is rapidly improving. Many areas which were virtually inaccessible because of poor roads or tracks, are increasingly being opened up as unmade roads are levelled and surfaced.

Evia is the second largest of the Greek islands and is connected to the Greek mainland by a new road bridge at Halkida. It benefits from regular ferry services which operate throughout the year and the crossing to this part of Evia takes only 45 minutes. The ferry departs from Agia Marina on the mainland which is approximately a forty five minute drive from Athens international airport
