Skopelos is one of the Aegean island lying to the north of Evia. Like Evia it has the advantage of not having an airport of its own. It has been spared many of the ravages of mass tourism. It is served firstly by daily hydrofoil and ferry services from Volos and Agios Komstantinos on the mainland. Secondly it also has hydrofoil and ferry services from Skiathos, which does have an airport. The hydrofoil takes 3o minutes and the ferry 55 minutes, Chora is the capital of the island.

Slopelos is noted for lush greenery, fine beaches, picturesque villages and its own style of architecture. Outdoor activities include scuba diving and snorkelling, sailing, hiking and beautiful beaches with clear waters.
