Mahala cottage Zarakes enjoys stunning views across the valley of old Zarakes.  In the valley stand the ruins of the old village which was destroyed in the 1953 earthquake.  The residents decided to rebuild the complete village in the higher location where the present village now stands. New life was slowly breathed back into the ruins of the old.  Some  been rebuilt under strict planning regulations and converted into beautiful stone houses. Others, such as the Old Coffee Shop, still await the attention of the master craftsmen’s skills.

Mahala Cottage Zarakes, stands facing the valley, at the front of  a plot of 840 s.m. The cottage only requires a small amount of work to make it habitable. The plot at the rear contains  fruit trees and a terrace. It may be large enough,  to enable the present house to be extended subject to planning permission.

Its tucked away ” position makes the house an ideal “get away from it all home”. In addition to any upgrading to the house itself , the landscaping of the plot would of itself transform the property.

The building provides 80 m. of accommodation on two floors

  • Upper Ground Level: Kitchen/diner with open fireplace.
  • Lower Ground Level: Bathroom, bedroom, living area.
  • Exterior: Large garden area with fruit trees, terrace.
