EVIA OLD RENOVATION COTTAGE
- WITH SEPARATE BUILDING PLOT
- 73,000 Euro
The present cottage of 42 sq.m. requires demolition. Building regulations would then allow construction of a villa of over 200 sq.m. It would also be possible to divide the land into two equal parcels of 500 sq.m. and build two smaller properties, or sell off one of the plots. It is believed that each plot would be valued at about 50,000 Euros each.
Styra is a small traditional Greek village only five minutes inland from the resort of Nea Styra, where the ferries from the mainland arrive. Styra has an attractive square with a taverna, a bar, coffee shop and a range of shopping facilities, including a bakery, a mini market, a bank and a pharmacy. Several times a week a traveling greengrocer and a fishmonger visit the village, selling their wares. There is also a daily bus service to Athens.
Evia is an unspoilt island, ideal for those who want a quiet backwater either for a holiday home or as a permanent residence. It is an ideal area for walking and cycling and is also popular for photography and bird life.
There are frequent ferry services from Agia Marina on the mainland to Nea Styra. Agia Marina is 45 minutes from Athens International airport and the crossing itself also takes 45 minutes.
There are a number of quiet bays and beaches within a five minute drive of the village, whilst in Nea Styra there is a range of beachside tavernas and ice cream parlours from where the brilliant evening sunsets can be enjoyed.
There is demand for holiday rental accommodation in the area both internationally and from Greek families for whom Styra is a favourite spot.
Styra is in the narrowest part of Evia and has the advantage that both east and west coasts are easily accessible. The East coast is more rugged but has beautiful small sandy bays, each with a taverna or two and which are quiet even in the height of summer.
