AGIOS DIMITRIOS

Agios Dimitrios is a small village with a taverna and berths for small boats. Some small scale development is now beginning to take place along the coast. The next village, Almyrapotamos is a small fishing village and  holiday resort. Almyrapotamos is quaint and picturesque, with waterfront tavernas, a marina and some holiday accommodation.

EVIA

Evia is the second largest of the Greek islands with 370 kms of coast and some 110 beaches. Stunning mountain and coastal scenery with numerous small bays and coves, make it one of the most beautiful of Greek islands.

The traditional Greek character and atmosphere of the island is a permanent feature, with a coastline of small fishing villages, whilst mountain villages are still open and working all year round.

Nor has the island been spoilt by mass package tourism. Despite not having its own airport, access is easy. There is a regular ferry service throughout the year from the port of Agia Marina on the mainland, to Styra. Agia Marina is a 40 minute drive from Athens international airport. The ferry crossing to Styra takes 45 minutes. and Agios Dimitrios is a further 20 minutes by car.

A road bridge at Chalkida is the link to the island from the mainland.  Evia will not be cut off even on the rare occasions of winter weather.
Apart from the usual beach activities, Evia is also a haven for the artist, the writer and bird watchers. Hiking and mountain biking are also popular activities.
