Eretria is a small town on the west coast of Evia with a sandy beach, a wide selection of beach front tavernas and berthing facilities for the ferries which ply between the town and the mainland.
Evia is the second largest of the Greek islands and one of the most accessible, served by several ferry routes from the mainland as well as being connected to the mainland by a modern road bridge at Chalkida. It is one of the few islands blessed by not having an airport, and has not been spoiled by mass package tourism. It is a region which attracts walkers and mountain bikers, as well as those who just want to rest, relax and soak up the atmosphere.
Evia is an island where the beauties of nature abound. In springtime it is a carpet of multi coloured flowers. It boasts magnificent coastal scenery with small sandy bays and rocky coves nestling amongst the cliffs and backed by the majesty of the central mountain chain.
