The port of Rafina from where there are regular ferry services throughout the year to Marmaris in southern Evia is only 30 mintes from Athens airport and there is also a road bridge at Chalkida linking the island to the mainland and ensuring that one is never cut off even on the rare occasions when there is inclement winter weather.
