Evia is the second largest of the Greek islands with 370 kms of coast and some 110 beaches. Stunning mountain and coastal scenery with numerous small bays and coves, make it one of the most beautiful of Greek islands.

The traditional Greek character and atmosphere of the island has been retained. The coastline is dotted with small fishing villages, whilst the mountain villages are still open and working all year round.

Nor has the island been spoilt by mass package tourism. Despite not having its own airport, access is easy. There is a regular ferry service throughout the year from the port of Agia Marina on the mainland, to Styra. Agia Marina is a 40 minute drive from Athens international airport, whilst the crossing to Styra takes 45 minutes. Agios Dimitrios is about 20 minutes by car from Styra.

A road bridge at Chalkida links the island to the mainland.  This ensures that one is never cut off even on the rare occasions when the winter weather is inclement.
Apart from the usual beach activities, Evia is also a haven for the artist, the writer and bird watchers . as well as for those who enjoy more active pursuits such as hiking and mountain biking.
