Ichalia is a traditional Greek village. It has a square where a popular Sunday market is held every week, whilst a mini market and a doctors surgery are held in the village twice a week.

20 minutes to the west are the magnificent sandy beaches of Kalo Nero, which stretch into the distance. The house, which is on the edge of the village, is 1 km from the Athens – Kalamata motorway. This now reduces travelling time from Athens to just over two hours.
