<p>Evia is the second largest of the Greek islands and is one of the few, which has the benefit of being without an airport so that it has not suffered the depredations of package tourism. Despite the lack of an airport it is easily accessible throughout the year, with regular daily ferry services from the mainland to Styra. Athens international airport is only a 45 minute drive to the ferry terminal at Agia Marina and the crossing to Styra takes a further 45 minutes.</p>
<p>Evia is also connected to the mainland by a road bridge at Halkida.</p>
