Driopi is a small village overlooking the blue waters of the Saronic gulf and lying between the family holiday resort of Epidavros and Galatas. Epidavros is the centre of a fertile agricultural region, as well as being an area steeped in history, drama and culture. The backcloth to this beautiful setting is provided the majestic mountains of the central Peloponese, ideal for walkers, hikers and mountain bikers, as well as for those who want a less energetic lifestyle near to the coast.
Driopi is a 2 hours drive from Athens and there are also local bus services and a ferry service from the island of Poros to Piraeus.
This traditional stone house, providing accommodation of 100 sq.m., is set in a plot of 550 sq.m. and was built some 70 years ago. It has been sympathetically restored and renovated by the present owners, the work having been completed in 2009. The renovations included re-wiring and a new roof, whilst externally stone walls, terracing and a patio were built to add to the attractiveness of the gardens. In order to take full advantage of the excellent sea and mountain views, the living accommodation is on the first floor, whilst the sleeping accommodation is at ground floor level..
The house is within the village planning limits and the size of the plot allows for additional construction of up to a further 300 sq.m.

The house has the benefit of air conditioning and double glazing and in the lounge area there is an attractive open fireplace. A number of features in traditional village style add to the charm and character of the house, including wooden doors and shutters, beamed ceilings in the two bedrooms and a vaulted wooden ceiling in the first floor living area. One bedroom has fitted wardrobes and the kitchen has a range of fitted units, cupboards and work surfaces.
Externally there is a patio outside the first floor bordered by flower beds and shrubs. The garden also has a number of almond trees.
All furniture and furnishings are included in the price, together with the fridge/freezer, cooker and washing machine.
The house is suitable both as a permanent residence and as a holiday home / investment.
Driopi is 3 kms from the nearest beach and 10 kms from a selection of large sandy beaches. There is a bus stop in the village, some 50m. from the house and in the centre of Driopi there is a mini market and the village coffee shop. Driopi also benefits from a daily bread delivery service. In the nearby villages of Kaloni and Galatas and in the town of Epidavros there are shopping facilities, as well as a medical centre, pharmacies and a wide range of tavernas.
This part of the Peloponese is an ideal centre for visiting nearby islands such as Poros, Hydra and Spetses, as well as numerous archaeological sites such as Mycenae and the Ancient Theatre at Epidavros, where productions of world ranking stature are held in the summer months, which have included visits by the Royal Shakespeare and performances by Helen Mirren.
There are also excellent shopping centres in the nearby towns of Nafplion and Argos, with markets all the year round, as well as cinemas.
